Looking for some feedback.

An opportunity has arose to work with some engineers at a leading automotive steering supplier to design racks for Formula and Baja.  The goal is to try to appeal to as many teams as possible.

With that in mind, what aspects of a steering rack do teams prioritize and what are acceptable ranges.

Weight
Ratio
Max Handwheel Angle
Rack length
Rack travel
Cost
Sensor capabilities
Mounting Points
Max Loading

When i was on a team i know we kinda just used stilettos because they were cheap and moderately light weight and just kind of tuned everything around that. Would teams appreciate it if there was more customization? Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks!

Cost is going to be your number one for baja. A lot of teams these days are making their own as they can make them for less than they can buy them. I would also make the rack width customizable. the mounting points, travel, ratio, can be universal, but if rack width can be easily adjusted, that would be a big benefit.
