    Posted: May/23/2016 at 4:47am
Hi everyone.

I was wondering if it is possible for tie rods to be mounted directly above where a drive shaft goes through on my rear upright? What benefit does it give if i offset the tie rod mounting points by moving them towards the rear of the car rather?.

Thanks

First, why do you have a tie rod in the rear?

Second, do you mean to mount the tire rod without any longitudinal displacement with respect to the centre of the wheel ASM i.e. without a steering arm?

the further from the axis of rotation of the upright you position your steering arm, the less input force will be needed, but the more input travel will be needed for equivalent angle changes.
