I thought this might be a good idea since the new rules don't state everything that has changed or even what changes they made to the sections that were revised.

I've posted the 2010 rule with the 2011 version so it is clear what has changed.

Please post any changes that you discover as you sift through the new rules.

2010 Brake Light Rule:
22.4 Brake Light
The vehicle must be equipped with a red brake light that is mounted such that the light shines parallel to the ground, not up at an angle. The brake light must be mounted at a minimum of 1 meter (39.4 in) off of the ground, generally between half and the top third of the height of the firewall. The determination of whether or not a brake light meets the required standards rests with the National Technical Inspectors.

2011 Brake Light Rule:
B3.4.1
The vehicle must be equipped with a red brake light that is SAE ā€œSā€ or ā€œUā€ rated and must be clearly visible. The brake light must be mounted at a minimum of 1 meter (39.4 in) above the ground... Light must be mounted such that it shines parallel to the ground, not up at an angle.

2010 Brake Light Switch Rule:
22.4.1 Brake Light Switch
All brake light switches must use a pressure switch in the brake line. Push style or momentary switches will not be allowed.

2011 Brake Light Switch Rules:
B3.5 Brake Light Switch

The brake light must be activated by hydraulic pressure switches. Each independent brake hydraulic system must be equipped with a brake light switch, so that no brake, including cutting brakes may be activated without lighting the brake light.

B3.5.1
Push style or momentary switches are not allowed.

2010 Under Seat Member Rule:
31.2.6 Under Seat Member (USM)

An under seat member (USM) shall attach to the LFS members, and pass beneath the seat. The USM shall be positioned in such a way to prevent the seat and/or driver from passing through the plane of the LFS in the event of seat failure.

2011 Under Seat Member Rule:
B8.3.6 Under Seat Member (USM)

The two LFS members must be joined by the Under Seat Members. The USM must and pass directly below the driver where the template in RC3 intersects the seat bottom. The USM must be positioned in such a way to prevent the driver from passing through the plane of the LFS in the event of seat failure.

2010 Fuel Container Rule:
35.7
Fuel Containers

All fuel must be carried in, and put into vehicle fuel tanks, from DOT approved containers.

2011 Fuel Container Rules:
B12.9 Fuel Containers (new)

All fuel must be carried in, and put into vehicle fuel tanks, from approved unmodified containers.
Approved unmodified containers shall:
1) Have a volume of 5 gallons or less.
2) Be equipped with an original cap to prevent spills when not in use.
3) Be labeled with school name and car number.
