I want to know if Toroidal CVT ever used in Baja competition. If not then why? Which company is using it and in which model.

There is no comercial Toroidal CVT suitable to small engines. TO use this system you will have to do your own.
NSK made some research about it, not sure if is available for selling

I think my team made one around 2003... I don't know if it worked good or not, but it was heavy.

I don't know the exact weigth of it, maybe 35-40 pounds. And aluminum and steel were used, but I couldn't tell you more about it.

ETS won the East race and was 3rd at the Midwest race (don't think they went to West), so I'd say they toroidal CVT wasn't too bad!
Second hand info, but I was told he won some kind of national (Canadian) engineering award for his CVT.

After little search, I found something about it in a design report of 2001, and they finished 2nd in the east and 3rd in the mid-west, so it must worked good enough, but I won't post any data or picture of it.
