The type of suspension on the rear would be called a semi trailing arm or a pure trailing arm?

It is at an angle to th elongitudinal axis but does no use a triangular control arm ... or 2 control arms

Depends how the inner pivots are mounted. Cant tell from this picture. If the arm pivots are perpendicular to centerline of the car then it is a Pure trailing arm. if they are angled relative to the line that is parallel to the center plane, then you have a semi-trailing arm.

If you post a picture showing how the arm connects to the body I can tell you if its semi-trailing or pure trailing.

heres another vehicle with a similar setup/....... the inner pivot seems to be at an angle

so i assume according to what u said earlier it is a semi trailing arm...
but if the pivot was not at an angle but perpendicular to the longitudinal axis and the arm was not parallel to the axis .... would it be a pure trailing arm

something like this

Something similar to this would be stronger. Having two chassis mount points which meet near the wheel center will handle the lateral loads better and allow you to make the arm much lighter. I'm not going to post a picture of ours for you to copy though as we are very proud of it and it is very strong and very light and has gone through about 5 iterations. But it is similar concept to this.

Semi-trailing has many dynamics advantages over trailling arm. But you must have medium to high simulation skills to determine the geometry.

sup bro,
those are all custom designs. best of luck on yours since you cannot employ an external company to design and build you a custom one as per the rules.
cool chat dude

Broo!

Whats a suspension manufacturer brooo?

Where's the fun in building a BAJA car, when you outsource something as simple as a semi trailing arm broo?
