Basically I'm looking for what kind of transmission oil to run in the transaxle since we've been having the problem of the oil foaming up during the endurance event. I'm curious to see what other teams are running, what their problems are, and what is good about the oil they're currently using and why they're using it. :D

Well currently I run a duck feather / epoxy mixture.  The high viscosity allows for the fluid film lubrication layer to be thick enough to prevent surface contact between our gears.  It also allows for us to run our trans in high revs at all times due to the cooling capabilities of the duck feathers. :)

I think we run 0W Royal Purple engine oil. The thinnest stuff you can find the better. No point in wasting HP churning 75W. Don't overfill your gearbox either. Too much oil will lead to overheating and foaming. We run just enough oil to touch tangent to any one gear, and that gear will through enough oil around to lube up the whole box. In last years gearbox that probably amounted to a couple tablespoons worth, yet the oil didn't get too hot and it was still enough for it to piss out the input shaft at the top of the trans.LOL
