Hello everyone,

I thought someone out there might find this useful so I'll throw it out there. I was getting to the point in my suspension design where I had to begin creating different load cases for my suspension arms and picking materials. I was looking for an easy way to compare different tube sizes and wall thicknesses in different materials.

I did some research and created an excel sheet that will calculate max yield bending force, and max yield tensile force for many common tube sizes and materials. It will also give a max yield bending force and max yield tensile force per weight.

Just enter tube OD and well thickness. Then select a material from the drop down and you're all set! It should calculate all values automatically.

I apologize to those outside of the US, all calcs. are in lbf and inches.

Hope someone finds this useful. Smile
