We are having some trouble interpreting this rule and how it defines the location of point B, between FAB up, the RHO and the RRH. Is this ok? Or should the FAB up be on Point B?

Two things:
1) it is straight line distance that they measure, so what you have drawn is fine, as long as the point B (point at which the RHO and the RRH meet) is in the same vertical plane as the connection of the FAB and the RRH. if not, you will be over the 5" limit. so be careful of that . 2) Why not just have the FAB meet at point B? This will create a stronger chassis and a safer design. the only reason I can come up with as to why you wouldn't do this is to shave a couple hundred grams off the chassis weight. larger amounts could be taken off by playing with different tubing sizes, and still making a well designed chassis. Hope this helps. Also when in doubt, submit an official rules question as those stand up in the technical inspection, but what people say on the forums does not. Cheers, |
